The Nerd Goes Marching, One by One

Sat Nov 28, 2009, 5:32 PM
  • Mood: Lazy
  • Listening to: Chopin's "L'adieu" in A Flat
  • Reading: Endless wandering job postings
  • Drinking: Crystal Light
It's times like this when I really miss being in a smaller town ... I never had to go more than a month without a job. That certainly made it easier to save up a lot of money in a relatively short period of time.

Things are looking up, though, in a way. I've had seven interviews over the span of three days and I've done a lot of pounding the pavement, so to speak — I even have the blisters and sores to prove it. And now I know that I must more diligently break in my new flats before I even consider wearing them for a whole day. Nothing says 'success' like waiting in a café for your interview down the street, going to the washroom and discovering that both your heels are bleeding at the very moment your mother decides to return your phone call.

Anyway! Interviews, happy, yay! I'm just hoping that one of them will actually amount to something, or that I'll at least hear back from the people who said they would get back to me, though I'm not going to hold my breath for either. So I'm applying for a few more jobs, since I actually owe my mother seventy-seven sent resumés and I don't want to feel like a total slacker. So I'll try and get in my ten for the day and then I'll go and finally mess around with that wonderous Sibelius software that my parents so generously gave me to encourage my composing skills.

Life is such a joy. </sarcasm>

I'm a short and sarcastic web design student who likes to write and take random photos, and hates getting up earlier than nine in the morning. I have a weird sense of humour, am easily amused, and have a (slightly) obsessive personality. There you go ... me in a nutshell.

You always ask me how an angel can love a demon like you,
I just smile and remind you that a demon is an angel too. :damphyr:

I'm not short -- I'm gravitationally enhanced. But if I WAS short, I'd be the coolest short person you'd ever see!

Several things...

I have several poems that you need to comment on :)

You need to post more. Just because I said so. ;)

You should check out Bryan's dA. ~cooperfotography Photography, obviously. I think he's pretty good. :)

I'm not a bad man. I'm not a good man. I am human.
:iconbeautyinreview:
dude, what happened to posting the spoof?!
:iconthemissingchapter:
The spoof ... the Lord of the Rings one? Kinda forgot about it. Is there a limit to how long the text files can be? 'Cause that story ended up being over fifty pages, typed up.

:iconbeautyinreview:
i think there is a limit. you'd most likely have to post it in parts.
:iconthemissingchapter:
Haha. "A Lord of the Rings rip-off -- now in installments!"
